Brendan R Keiper

About the Director

Brendan R Keiper is in his 10th year of teaching within the Southington Local School District. His teaching responsibilities currently include High School Marching and Concert Bands (Grades 7-12), 5th and 6th Grade Bands, and General Music classes (Grades K-8).
Mr. Keiper holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pennsylvania). During his undergraduate studies he concentrated in the areas of Instrumental Ensemble Conducting & Rehearsal as well as his primary instrument, tuba. He is in the final stages of earning a Master of Music in Music Education degree through Kent State University, expecting to graduate in May 2021.
He is an active member of the Ohio Music Educators Association, (in conjunction with the National Association for Music Education) District 5. During his career in Southington, Mr. Keiper has coached dozens of students in high school band and high school choir to achieve both Superior and Excellent ratings at OMEA District 5's Solo & Ensemble Contest. He was inducted into and is an active member of the Delta Beta chapter (Kent State University) of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
