About Us

Southington Local Schools is located in Southington Township in the west central section of Trumbull County. Southington is primarily rural in character. The population for Southington at the time of the 2010 census was 3,790.

Southington Local Schools is a K-12 facility- Chalker High School, Southington Middle School and Southington Elementary School. Chalker High School is named for Newton Chalker who was born in Southington and later became an attorney. Mr. Chalker built and donated the Chalker Building which sits at 4432 St. Rt. 305 in Southington. The original campus at 4432 St. Rt. 305 is where the Chalker Building, 1907 Building and the outdoor sports complex currently sit.

Southington Local Schools new K-12 campus was completed in 2011. The 43 acres of land where the new campus sits was generously donated by Mr. & Mrs. Donald Donaldson in 2007 and is next door to the Donaldson Rolling “D” Farms. Students first day at the new campus was Tuesday, September 6, 2011 and the first graduating class from the new campus graduated Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Today, Southington Schools average daily membership is approximately 500 students. Southington Local offers a variety of academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
