Drone Racing

The 2021-2022 school year marked the inaugural year of the Drone Racing League. Southington along with 5 other Trumbull County Schools made up the league. The race part of the competition consists of both a head-to-head and capture the flag events. In the inaugural year, Chalker placed 1st in capture the flag and 2nd in head-to-head. In year two, Chalker placed 1st in the head-to-head competition. On April 13, 2024, the Chalker Drone Racing Team took home 1st Place Overall. The drone team competed against 19 teams in the 2023-2024 season. The Drone Racing League is sponsored by the Trumbull County ESC, Winner Aviation, Air Force Reserve, and PIA (Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics).

Chess Team

Chalker Wildcat Chess Team started in the fall of 2021. Chess helps students develop their strategic thinking, logical reasoning, situational awareness, analysis, and sportsmanship skills. Chess team is currently open to boys and girls in grades 9-12. A middle school meeting is being planned to begin during this school year. Last year, Chess team members took part in the first interscholastic scrimmage against Newton Falls in the spring of 2022. During the 2022-23 school year, the team is expected to play officially sanctioned matches against Newton Fall, Liberty, and Badger. The boys and girls of the chess team look forward to bringing the county chess trophy back to Chalker High School!

Spanish Club

Spanish club is open to any high school student interested in expanding their knowledge about the Hispanic culture. We will explore things that classroom time does not allow. Students will explore and celebrate the Spanish-speaking diverse cultures through hands-on activities. The intent is to be both educational and fun for its members.
