Fall sports are about to wrap up. Our golf team finished their season in early October and had a great year under the direction of Craig Geisy. Jr Hi Volleyball finished up next with a great effort at their tournaments. Diane Hites did a fantastic job directing the girls this season. Then Diane also coached our Jr Hi Cross Country Team. Three kids ran and each race they saw improvement. All were 7 graders, so they will be back next season. Next our JV/V Volleyball program had the best year in Chalker History. The program started back in 1982 and this has been the best record they have recorded. They finished the season 15-5. They won the sectional tournament, but fell short in the district semi-finals. Coach Brown and Coach Freeman had their hands full with 28 girls playing volleyball this season (9 of which were Seniors). We will miss those Seniors, but we have some up and coming athletes who will be working to fill the Seniors' shoes. Varsity Cross Country just finished with our boys team and girls ending on a high note at districts with all our runners running their PR. Abbey Castle finished 2nd at Districts and 5th at Regionals. She then headed to State where she competed against 182 girls and finished 22nd which earned her All Ohio honors. We are very proud of you, Abbey. Our football team is still in action. They finished the season 5-3 and will be in the playoffs this Sat., Nov 9. They are playing in Sandusky against St Mary's Central Catholic. It had been a great learning experience for these boys and Coach Kren, competing in their first year in the Northern 8 league. The season has been plagued with injuries, but nothing stops our Wildcat determination. Keep fighting Wildcats and you will come out on top!
