The Middle School Band program in the Southington Local Schools consists of three separate bands: the 5th Grade Band, the 6th Grade Band, and the 7th and 8th Grade combined Band. These bands will have students develop skills on a particular instrument to become proficient in reading and performing band music. Instruments that are considered band instruments are as follows: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, french horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion.
Students that are a part of the 7th and 8th Grade Band will also be a part of out High School Marching Band and have the opportunity to play in the High School Pep Band for Basketball season.
