WELCOME BACK!

K-3 Intervention Specialist
Welcome Back! What an amazing journey we get to embark on together. You will not believe how much your child will grow this year.  We have so much planned, and I can’t wait to get to know you and your family!

MEET MISS PISHOTTI

Hi! I'm Taylor Pishotti and I am happy to say that I will be working with your child during this school year as an Intervention Specialist.  I have been at Southington Schools as a K-3 Intervention Specialist since 2021, but I also previously taught at Lakeview Schools for 7 years as a K-3 Intervention Specialist. I have worked in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade and I enjoy every minute of it!

I graduated from Lakeview High School in 2009.  I then went on to complete my Bachelor's Degree at Youngstown State University in 2014 and my Master’s Degree in 2016 at Capella University.  In my free time, I love to spend time with my family.  We enjoy rooting for the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians!  We are also extremely passionate about animals. We love spending time with our dogs Leonard & Beau and cat Rumor!

CO-TEACHING IN YOUR CHILD'S CLASSROOM

I will be providing support for your child and their classroom teacher. While my main purpose is to support children with disabilities, that is not my only responsibility within the regular education classroom.  In the general education classroom, I will be co-teaching with your child’s teacher.  Co-teaching is when a general education teacher and a special education teacher share the responsibilities of planning lessons, delivering instruction, and assessing skills in the classroom.  Co-teaching allows for ALL students to receive standards based education in a least restrictive environment.

I will be an active participant in your child’s daily schedule.  I am fortunate enough to work with a great team of teachers here at Southington Elementary and I look forward to watching your child grow throughout the school year.  I’m also looking forward to becoming involved in your child’s learning, and am even more eager to see how they influence me!
