Mrs. Dunn is currently the board Vice-President and was appointed to the Board of Education in February of 2013, elected in November of 2013 and re-elected in November of 2017 and November 2021.  Mrs. Dunn is a 1996 graduate from James A Garfield High School and a 2000 graduate from Hiram College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.  Mrs. Dunn continued her education by receiving a Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007.  Mrs. Dunn is currently employed by Lakeview Local Schools as a fifth grade teacher. 

Mrs. Dunn and her husband Eric live in Southington and have 2 children, Christopher  McCarty (a 2015 graduate of Chalker High School) and Sebastian Dunn who is a current student in the class of 2024. In her spare time Mrs. Dunn enjoys reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family.

 

 

Ms. Gibbs was appointed to the Board of Education in June of 2020 and on January 12, 2022 and was re-elected to the board in November of 2023.  Ms. Gibbs is a 2001 graduate of Chalker High School.

 

Ms. Gibbs has 2 children and currently lives in Southington.

 

Ms. Gibbs takes pride in Southington Local Schools and is inspired to be on the board to help the school continue to thrive. 

Mr. Gilanyi was elected in November of 2006 and has been serving on the Board since that time.  

Mr. Gilanyi is a 1982 graduate of Chalker High School and also a graduate of the Trumbull Career and Technical Center.

 

Mr. Gilanyi and his wife Shari (also a 1982 Chalker graduate) have lived in Southington their entire lives and have raised their 2 boys here: Ryan a 2006 graduate and Bradley a 2009 graduate.

 

Mr.  Gilanyi is currently employed as  a machinist for Gilanyi Engineering in Warren, Ohio and also operates a 200 acre grain farm on the family farm in Southington.

 

Mr. Freeman is a 2008 graduate of Chalker High School and the Trumbull County Career and Technical Center.  Mr. Freeman was appointed to the Board on April 16, 2020 and on January 12, 2022.

 

Mr. Freeman and his wife Laura live in Southington and have 2 boys that are attending Southington Local Schools.  Mr. Freeman is employeed by Pro Scape Septics as a truck driver and laborer.

 

 

Mr. Kelly is the current Board President.  Mr. Kelly was appointed to the Board in August of 2019 and re-elected in November of 2019 and November of 2023.  Mr. Kelly is a 1968 graduate of Chalker High School.  He also attended Kent State University and Hiram.

 

Mr. Kelly and his wife Roberta (also a 1968 graduate of Chalker High School) have 4 children- all graduates of  Chalker High School, Stacy (1994), Matt (1997), Jon(1998) and Andrea(2000).

 

Mr. Kelly is retired from Delphi (Packard Electric).  

 

Mr. Kelly served as Southington Local School Athletic Director for 2 years.  He enjoys working with coaches and student athletes.
