Classroom Management

Classroom Management
We use positive discipline in our classroom.  We base our classroom values around the book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud.  We encourage the kids to make smart choices and be a "bucket filler" not a "bucket dipper".  If we see that a child is having difficulty controlling their body or following the rules then that child may be asked to "take a break".  During that time, we will talk to the child about their behavior and we will discuss a better choice that we could make so that they may return to their activity. If your child has "filled a bucket" with their behavior that day, they will get to put a pom pom into our classroom bucket.  Once the bucket is full, we will choose a way to celebrate being "bucket fillers". We always strive to have a "bucket filling" year!  We have a daily calendar that stays in your child's folder for the month that we will use to track your child's behavior and use to communicate with you.  We may also contact you through DoJo about certain situations.

**These are the basic rules that we enforce to help the children to be respectful and safe in our classroom:
Our Classroom Rules
*Follow Directions Quickly
*Raise Your Hand to Talk
*Use Helpful Hands and Words
*Use Inside Voices
*Make Smart Choices

We also promote doing things the "Wildcat Way" and use the following "PAWS" as a reminder:
P-Practice Respect
A-Act Safely
W-Word Hard
S-Show Responsibility
