Curriculum
Welcome to our Preschool classroom where we are busy with learning, socializing and building our skills! In this preschool we use Teaching Strategies which has 36 objectives for development and learning which are also aligned to the Ohio Early Learning Development Standards. We also use Handwriting Without Tears to practice writing our letters and numbers, Alphafriends for our letter recognition and sounds, Heggerty and
Really Great Reading for language and literacy development.
Activities
I create weekly activity plans that are based on a theme. Everyday our day includes a language and literacy activity, math, social studies, science and technology, social-emotional, physical and an art or singing experience. Some of our activities are whole group while others are small group or one-on-one. Everyday we have planned activities that the children are encouraged to explore independently during our "center-time". I believe that preschool should be fun, engaging and instill a love of learning in all children. I provide these opportunities through song, stories, games and hands-on activities thus helping to build independence and social and cognitive skills.
