About Me

Hi!  I'm Rhonda Balzer.  I grew up in Braceville where I attended LaBrae schools.  After graduating, I attended Malone College where I majored in education.  I graduated from Malone with a degree in Elementary Education 1-8 and a degree in Specific Learning Disabilities k-12.  Shortly after graduating from college, I moved to Florida.  I was an intervention specialist at Moon Lake Elementary which is in New Port Richey, Florida.  I taught there for eight years.  After living in Florida for eight years, my family decided to move back to this area so we can be closer to our extended family.  It was important to me for my children to know and be close to their family.  Since my children were still young, I decided to be a stay home mom until both of my children were of school age.

This will be my ninth year teaching at Southington Local Schools.  The first four years I was an Intervention Specialist in the middle school and elementary.

My family lives in Southington, and I have two children. My oldest son attends Youngstown State University, and my youngest son attends Southington Local Schools.  My family loves this community, and we feel blessed to be a part of it.
